+ Redwood and laser-cut laminated plywood with mirrored mylar strips and welded steel base
+ 6' tall x 10' long x 4" wide
+ Installed at Taliesin West, Arizona
The sculpture was created as a site-specific piece; the angle of the gnomon was calculated at the latitude of Taliesin West. The angle of the shadow cast in turn by the sculpture is a marker of time. The mirrored strips, oriented at changing angles, act as a screen while reflecting back sections of sky and landscape.
ONLY TIME CAN TELL carried out its own migration, moving to different moments in Frank Lloyd Wrightâs architecture before being installed in a desert meadow for its final hours of daylight.  Â
